About St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Cobleskill

Worship With us

Our primary act of worship is the service of Holy Communion, or the Mass,

We offer Mass every Sunday at 10 AM and as announced on major Holy Days throughout the year.

In the Mass bread and wine are blessed, offered and shared among the worshippers

in obedience to Jesus' command to

"do this in remembrance of me."

The ancient Christian understanding is that Jesus Christ is truly,

but mysteriously, present to us through the Bread and the Wine

so that they are his body and blood.

All baptized Christians who receive in their own churches may receive Holy Communion at St. Christopher's.

Anyone may receive a blessing at the time of Holy Communion.

We believe that God loves you regardless of your background, age, race, gender, or orientation

and invite you to come "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8)

Our History

Founded in 1905 by a group of lay Episcopalians, our congregation began as Grace Episcopal Mission,

worshiping in the home of Mr. Adolf Bierck.

In 1926 The Rev. Robert Clyde Joudry was called as the first priest of Grace Mission.

In 1931 the first building was completed.

In 1960 Grace merged with St. Christopher's Mission in nearby Schoharie and the combined mission was renamed St. Christopher's in the Valley.

In 1967 the cornerstone for the current building was laid.

Today Saint Christopher's is a small but active and welcoming Episcopal Parish.

At Saint Christopher's you can expect

Christ centered, biblical Preaching,

beautiful worship,

and a loving community.

Our Mission

We are a Christ-Centered Anglican Church rooted in traditional Christian values. We are committed to the authority of Holy Scripture, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, preserving our unique Christian heritage, and reaching forth our hands in love to all who are in need.
